Branding

Branding is our passion. To us, there’s nothing more exciting than creating a brand from scratch, or breathing new life into an existing one. We’ve crafted a process that eliminates the guesswork through a system of discovery, planning, creation and management. You’ll feel confident every step of the way.

Whether designing an invitation, packaging, annual report, or signage, we like to think outside of the box. We see every project as a new opportunity for creative innovation. Our best work comes when partnering with you and using your desire to push the envelope to try something new.

An online store prepares for take-off

VIO Lifestyles is an online store offering exclusive household products sourced from around the world. Born out of a father/son dream to help families experience the world more often, VIO provides generous travel rewards to its members to help get them traveling sooner. We worked closely with VIO to create a brand from scratch and help establish a brand strategy, create a logo system, tagline, visual identity, packaging, website, business cards, and art direct videos to ensure brand consistency. The concept was clear: travel. We drew inspiration from travel documents and way-finding, as well as the many beautiful people, places and things from around the world. The result was a trailblazing, travel-inspired brand that conjures up the sights, sounds and smells from this planet we call home.

A local farm market fulfills a lifelong dream

The opening of Lepp Farm Market marked the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for owners Rob and Charlotte Lepp. Right on the same location they’ve run their green “Corn Shack” for years, they constructed a gorgeous, spacious facility to sell their local-grown beef, pork and chicken, along with local produce and other specialty food products. It was a joy to work with Rob and Charlotte to create their Western-inspired logo, stationery, signage and website showcasing all the fresh food they’re proud to provide the community

An image consultant redefines herself

With a lifetime of experience in both fashion and home decor, Marilee Congo has built a reputation for bringing beauty to life in all that she does. We worked with this trusted style expert to help Marilee better define her role as an image consultant. Together we established a brand strategy, created a visual identity, including a complete logo system, photography direction, typography, and business card design, as well as brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all applications.

The logo for Marilee Congo needed to capture the heart of the brand. Using Marilee’s personal name as her company title gives the business a very personal feel. We wanted the logo design to reflect Marilee’s love of timeless fashion, so we used a classic serif (Didot) associated with fashion brands like Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue in all caps. The logo needed to feel upscale like the luxury, personal styling service Marilee offers her clients. This is reflected in a paired down colour palette of black, white, and gold. What could be more luxe than gold foil on a business card?

A custom icon was created for the Marilee Congo logo by combining the “M” in Marilee with the ‘C” in Congo. The “C” surrounds the “M” much like the copyright symbol to denote Marilee as one of a kind. This type of trademark or stamp is also reflective of high fashion brands. Marilee helps others looks their best, so it’s only fitting to have a brand that best reflects her.

Stacey was ready to create an online presence for SBAC to showcase the knowledge and expertise they have to offer prospective clients. He came to us with just a logo. SBAC needed a website and visual identity that reflects their desire to deliver top-notch expertise and service with uncompromising integrity. We needed to tell the stories that demonstrate this forward thinking group and their ability to see beyond the now.

SBAC_homepage.jpg

We gave SBAC an honest, straightforward, editorial-style visual identity that speaks to their logical approach to problem-solving. Using a custom WordPress theme, we created a website design that is fluid and responsive to the device it’s being viewed on to allow SBAC’s audience to seamlessly browse.

The complete project went extremely well. Michelle and her team did an exceptional job of explaining the process; always guiding us towards what we communicated as our vision from the start.

Form Meets Function gets it—communication, clarity, and simplicity—the key pillars of success. Simply put, Michelle and her team are professionals. They made it an enjoyable process.

We have nothing but positive feedback on our website. We’re 100% satisfied.

A fundraising gala gets a facelift

In an effort to raise funds to support their mission to protect and enhance the quality of life for animals in B.C., the BC SPCA created Offleashed, a fundraising gala. Held at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver, the annual affair is always a sellout attracting more than 300 supporters. A chic and glamorous affair hosted by local tv personalities like Ann Luu, Howard Blank, and Erin Cebula, the Offleashed event didn't lack interest but did need an image to better represent it's upscale charm. We created a logo and visual identity to reflect the sophistication Offleashed offers while keeping the animals the focus.

Crafting a brand for a new store with a big heart

MCC Community Enterprises (MCC CE), is a collection of social enterprises that each offer a unique response to social need, tackling issues of unemployment, poverty and marginalization. With an opportunity to make use of a large commercial space, MCC CE began dreaming of a boutique/bakery/coffee shop offering a blend of up-cycled, vintage, consignment, and new goods to support local and global artisans in a sustainable way. They approached us to help create a name, logo, visual identity, signage and interior design direction. Referencing the symbol of a dove, an iconic image of peace used by the MCC, we created a vintage-inspired bird illustration to embody the personality of Marketplace. Similarly, the interiors were a combination of new, used, and repurposed materials to give the space a unique look in keeping with their values.

A new player in the crane industry makes a big first impression

Bigfoot Crane Company was the new kid on the block who desired to make a big first impression. Composed of a highly-skilled, well-connected, experienced team, Bigfoot was confident in their ability. All they needed was for their audience to take notice. They came to us with a name, a doodle and a clear idea of what they wanted to be: legendary, like a sasquatch. Together we developed a tagline, created a logo and had a lot of fun applying “Squatchy” to everything.

A new pub with lofty dreams

The Clayton was a new pub in town with big dreams of becoming the favourite go-to spot in Clayton Heights, a community in Cloverdale, BC. They had a name, a location, a growing menu and a whole lot of ideas. We worked together to create a logo and visual identity that fit their vision. It was a pleasure to collaborate on the interior design of the pub to create an atmosphere that's causal, comfortable and inviting.

An updated look for Vancouver's tower crane company

Established in 1974, family-run Coupal Cranes is one of the largest tower crane rental companies in the lower mainland. Their cranes have been used to helped shape Vancouver’s skyline with projects including BC Children’s Hospital, Olympic Village, the development of False Creek, and BC Place. Though well-established company, Coupal lacked an online presence or consistent visual identity. Paying homage to their 70s roots, we created a retro-inspired logo and visual identity. We developed a website that is intuitive, easy to navigate and user-friendly. Custom photography showcased the fleet, the city and the Coupal family.
